U-16 Football Championship
De La Salle 4-6 Ferrybank 0-6
Our U-16 footballers got off to a winning start when they defeated excellent opponents Ferrybank playing some very good football. We were fortunate to lead at halftime 1-2 to 0-4. The goal coming from Alex Keane and points from Eamonn Brosnan and Darren Kenneally. We played much better in the second half outscoring our opponents 3-4 to 0-2 in that period. The goals coming from Niall O'Keeffe , Harry Lawton and Daire Treacy.

National Hurling League
Well done to Derek McGrath, Kevin Moran, Stephen Daniels, Jake Dillon, Shane McNulty, Mark Cooney, Fergal O'Brien and the Waterford senior hurlers on their win over Kilkenny in Nowlan Park last Sunday in Round 1 of the league.
National Football League
Well done to Stephen Dalton and the Waterford senior footballers on continuing their winning start to this year’s competition with a victory over Wicklow in Carriganore last Saturday night.
Ashbourne Cup
Congratulations to Beth Carton on becoming the first De La Salle player to win an Ashbourne cup medal when UL defeated UCC in the final last Sunday. Commiserations to Ciara Twomey who was part of the WIT squad who were narrowly beaten by UCC in the semi final.
Dinner Dance
Our inaugural GAA/Camogie club dinner dance takes place next Saturday in the Granville Hotel at 7.30pm. It promises to be a great night with county and eastern medals being presented by the GAA club and the camogie club presenting county championship and league medals. Also being announced on the night are the various player of the year awards. Music is by the Bottle Brothers.
Hurling Wall Open
Our new Hurling Wall Facility is now open and available for use to all our members free of charge. Having made such an effort to get to this stage we encourage as much usage as possible as it can only help improve our skill levels all round. Both the full wall and small alley are bookable on an hourly basis for teams, groups and individuals. A weekly booking sheet will appear shortly on our website. This will display hours booked and available. To book phone or text either Tom O'Leary or Joe Carton.
Hurling Wall Coaching Session
This coming Friday 17th February the former National Hurling Director Paudie Butler will conduct two coaching sessions on how to make the best use of our Hurling wall. The first session is from 6pm to 7.15pm and is for juvenile coaches up to U-14. The second session is for coaches of teams from U-16 up to adult. We encourage all coaches, parents, adult players etc to attend as all will benefit from the sessions
Michael Doherty
After five years in Australia we welcome home Michael Doherty. It is great to see Michael back training with the hurlers and his transfer from Perth Shamrocks was officially approved in the last week.
Lotto
There was no winner of our Lotto jackpot last Monday night and it now stands at €17,000. The next draw takes place on Monday 20th February. Numbers drawn were 5, 14, 27, 30. There were five winners of €20 each.

De La Salle Walking Group
De La Salle are moving it!! Get on the move with the club walk this and every Tuesday night at 7.30pm sharp from Gracedieu. Pace to suit everyone and refreshments served afterward in Club house. Cost €1. All welcome.

Well done to our club girl Lucy Hogan who was a member of the Waterford U-16A county squad who played Cork in the quarter final of the U-16 Munster Championship on Sunday 12th Feb in WIT Carriganore. Waterford lost out on a scoreline of 1-4 to 0-1.
Congratulations and well done also to our club girl Beth Carton who was a member of the victorious UL winning team who won the Ashbourne 3rd Level Colleges cup on Sun 12th Feb in Abbotstown Co. Dublin. Beth played superbly throughout the competition scoring 0-3 in the final. Final score UL 2-8 UCC 1-7.
All roads lead to the Granville Hotel next Sat night 18th Febuary for the DLS GAA/Camogie club dinner dance where our victorious winning 2016 U-18A & Intermediate League & championship squads will receive their County medals. Enjoy everyone.
