Juvenile Presentation Awards
Our annual juvenile presentation of player of the year awards and medals was held in the showroom of our senior team sponsors John Kelly Opel on Saturday last. The guests on the day to present the various medals and trophies included county senior hurling captain Kevin Moran along with Jake Dillon and county senior footballer Stephen Dalton.
Juvenile chairman Paudie Brosnan welcomed the lads and their parents. He complimented all the teams who had represented the club during the year and emphasised the importance of the enjoyment of playing whether trophies were being won or not. He specially emphasised the wonderful discipline and behaviour of the lads both on and off the field. He spoke of the great weekend the U-14 footballers had in Kerry when they won the shield competition in their division of the All Ireland Peil na nOg and he congratulated all the teams that were successful.
He thanked all the various team mentors for their work and the three schools for their help. He thanked groundsmen in Cleaboy and Gracedieu for the excellent condition of the pitches always. He then thanked clubman Martin Doyle of John Kelly Opel for providing their facilities and their hospitality on the day.
County and Eastern Division 2 medals were presented to our U-15 hurlers. Eastern Division 1 medals were presented to our U-13 hurlers and U-12 footballers. It was then on to the presentation of the various player of the year and most improved player awards.
