The 2017 Sonny Walsh Tournament takes place tomorrow, Saturday August 26th.

Sonny represented Waterford at all ages for close on 20 years, winning a National League medal and All Ireland Runners Up medals in 1963.

He served as Chairman, secretary and treasurer of his beloved club while still playing. He was also a founder member of the original Tony Forristal tournament.

Sonny died suddenly in 1983 at our club grounds in Cleaboy (at the young age of 39) while training our minor team.
