County Senior Hurling Final
Ballygunner 2-18 De La Salle 0-16
Commiserations to our senior hurlers who suffered a disappointing defeat to Ballygunner in the county final in Walsh Park last Sunday. This was a game in which we never reached the required level of performance. The loss of Ian Flynn added to the long term loss of Stephen Daniels certainly affected us defensively and Ballygunner emerged deserving winners on the day.
We extend our thanks to the players and the management of Owen Dunphy, Alan ‘Jack’ Duggan, Bryan Phelan, Peter Hearne Donal Treacy plus their backroom and medical teams for the effort they put in during the year to get us back to a county final. We congratulate Ballygunner on their achievement and wish them well in the Munster club.
Scorers: Shane Ryan 0-8 (frees), Jack Fagan 0-3 (0-1 sideline), Paidi Nevin, John Mullane, Kevin Moran, Adam Farrell and Thomas Douglas (free) 0-1 each.
