County U-21 Hurling Final

De La Salle 1-12 Abbeyside 1-8

Well done to our U-21 hurlers who were crowned county champions for the third successive year after a hard fought win over Abbeyside in Dunhill last Sunday. By all accounts this was a great victory for our lads who overcame excellent opposition with a great team performance. After the game Eddie Meaney was named man of the match and there was great joy when the Tony Mansfield Memorial cup was presented to team captain Shane Ryan by county chairman Paddy Joe Ryan. A first three in a row at this level represents a massive achievement for our club.

Congratulations to the panel and to team mentors Bryan Phelan, Ian Flynn, Stevie Brenner, Barry Murphy and Martin Doyle with thanks also to Joe Kenny who was on first aid duty. Great credit is due to team manager Bryan Phelan who in his six years as manager has managed us to four county titles. Commiserations also to a gallant Abbeyside side.

Panel: Shaun O'Brien, Ryan Duke, Conor Giles-Doran, Adam Doyle, Mikey Costigan, Shane Ryan (captain), Lee Wall, Gavin Coppinger, Brian Cunningham, Dylan Finn, Evan Whelan, Sam Flynn, Cormac McCann, Thomas Douglas Eddie Meaney, Luke Flynn, James Stone, Michael Roche, Sean Carton, Ian Condon, Sean Power, Conor Dunphy Tom Crotty, Jack O'Donohue, Jack McCarthy (injured) Jeff Cahill (injured).
