GAA

Congratulations to Conor Keane, Daniel Lalor, Jack Fagan, Reuben Halloran & Jack Twomey who were named in the Waterford team and panel for the Div 1A League game v Cork. Hard Luck lads on the result.

ALL HAIL THE ORACLE OF ELLAND ROAD

Huge congratulations to Paul Moran, the surprise, shock, ‘and slightly smug’ winner of the De La Salle Senior Team Last Man Standing. While all the so-called “gurus” were busy picking the ‘obvious’ top teams and crashing out in ‘Round One’ (we won’t name names… but you know who you are), Paul calmly selected ‘Leeds’ and watched the rest of the field self-destruct. Tactical genius? Blind luck? A divine footballing vision? We’ll never know. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Paul has generously donated his winnings back to the Senior Team fund and topped up the pot for the next Last Man Standing. A champion on the ‘tipping’ pitch AND off it. Here’s hoping the next competition lasts ‘longer than one round’… but if it doesn’t, at least we know who to ask for tips next time! A new round started Saturday 24th January. With an entry of €10 with the prize pot already building thanks to Paul's top up!

CONDOLENCES

Deepest sympathies are extended to Joanne, Trevor, Kayleigh, Emily and all the Kirby family on the passing of Joanne’s Dad Martin, RIP Kayleigh is a member of our senior girls team, Emily plays underage & Trevor is an underage camogie coach. Our thoughts are with them all at this sad challenging time. Ar Dheis De go raibh anam.
