County Final U-16 Division 2
Kilrossanty 4-12 De La Salle 2-9
Our U-16 footballers were defeated by Kilrossanty in the Division 2 county final at Walsh park on Sunday last. Whilst Kilrossanty deserved their victory the scoreline was harsh on our lads with Kilrossanty's fourth goal coming with virtually the last kick of the game. There was only a point between the sides at the interval with Kilrossanty holding the advantage.
We started the second half well and a goal had us two points ahead. It was in the next ten minutes that Kilrossanty laid the foundation for their victory scoring 1-4 without reply, some of the points were of top quality. In fairness to our lads they continued to battle to the very end. Congratulations to Kilrossanty on their victory. Thanks to the management team of Kieran Wymberry, Conor Bohane and Kyle Synott for their excellent work with this team.
U-11 Hurling
One of our U-11 hurling teams played Tramore in Tramore on Friday last and lost an entertaining match on a score of 3-3 to 2-2.
U-10 Hurling
Our U-10 hurlers (pictured above) qualified for the semi finals of the Ballyduff tournament with wins over St Carthages 1-7 to 0-1, Sarsfields of Cork 1-5 to 2-0 and Ballygunner 2-4 to 2-2.
Thanks to the Ballyduff club for the invite to this excellent tournament.
The semi final will be next Saturday.
