INTER COUNTY

CAMOGIE

A huge well done to all the girls and the management team but especially Brianna, Beth Abby, Keeley and Fergal on a fantastic challenge in the All Ireland Quarter Final v Tipperary. We're so proud of you all. The game saw Beth & Abby pairing up well with Beth opening her tally in the fourth minute with a cracking score from the 45. Abby had some great ball wins, distribution and showed great pace taking her first point in 15th minute. The twentieth minute saw Brianna stop a kick on and provide huge support to her full back line under pressure. Abby took a great second point from a Tipp puck out mistake to keep us within two points in the 33rd minute. Opening the second half, Brianna had a super save under huge pressure and Beth had a side line free come off the upright but took a fine point with a beautiful strike five minutes later. Keely was introduced in the 52nd minute and won good ball in the middle of the field. In the 63rd minute, the Tipp keeper produced a super save from a goal going strike by Beth who had a tally of five points. Whilst all are no doubt disappointed, it’s a huge achievement making the Quarter Final stage for three years in a row.

HURLING

Our Clubmen put in some shift in the Munster Final with a super performance that we are so proud of and saw us right in the game up till injury time. Well Done to Shane McNulty, Jake Dillon, Kevin Moran & Jack Fagan on the hard working and inspiring performance. It was a fantastic performance from the whole Waterford team and a huge honour for the Club to see Shane, Jake, Kevin and Jack start with Shaun O’ Brien in the extended panel. We saw a very physical & outstanding Jake cover massive ground and take two points. Shane McNulty was so tight at corner back with great defending whilst the run of the game saw Jack Fagan defending at times from midfield and half back line and swooping on breaking ball. Kevin had the control of the half back line with another powerful performance keeping the Limerick half forwards quiet and at the same time putting Gleeson through for a superb point and a second hopped ball to him for a side line point.  Whilst the lads are no doubt disappointed with the result, we can’t but look forward to Clare next week in the All Ireland Quarter Final after that superb performance.  Beir Bua lads!

CONDOLENCES

Our deepest sympathies are extended to Michael, Margaret & David Greene on the death of their daughter & sister Kate, at such a very young age with such a young family. Our thoughts & prayers are with her husband Mick, children Mollie & Tom and all the Greene & Walsh families at this very sad and challenging time. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam.

GRACEDIEU

There’s a great photo of our Gracedieu facilities & the Thomas Francis Meagher Bridge in the background passed on our social media. A huge thanks to James Frisby of Frisby Homes for this photo and their kind & generous support providing top soil for our Flood Lit Training Pitch, nearly completed
