No winner in this week’s draw, held safely thanks to the Walsh family. This innovative fun filled series of Challenges from the newly formed Community Committee finished this week with all prizes delivered. Prizes of Easter Eggs were provided by Senior Club while the footballs and sliotars were sponsored by Juvenile Club supported by St Dominic’s Credit Union. The prize winners were Liam Power, Luke Nevin, Ryan Egan, Emily Power, Erin Mulligan, Peter, Niamh & Niall Byrne, Ella Moran and Bobby Kennedy. Winners of Best Family support were Kieran, Ryan & Leo Egan who didn’t miss one challenge. Thanks again to Ricky Grogan, Jake Dillon and Beth Carton for coordinating and all our senior players Abby Flynn, Siobhan Heylin, Courtney Healy, Brianna O’ Regan, Shane McNulty, Jack Fagan, Patrick Kennedy, Keeley Corbett Barry & Kevin Moran who provided all the fun challenges enthusiastically.

COMMUNITY COMMITTEE

Lisa Mullaly is welcomed on board as newest member to the Committee. Trevor Clooney was recently elected V/Chair of our new Committee and we decided to ask Trevor a few probing Questions for those of you who don’t know him;

Where did you go to school? Mercy Primary, St. Declan’s and De La Salle College. Where do you work? Sanofi. Playing Career with DLS? Played both hurling and football for DLS from a young age. At adult level played Senior Hurling and Intermediate Football. Biggest achievement with DLS? Winning the County Hurling Intermediate Championship in 1990 and subsequently playing senior hurling for a number of years. Current activities with DLS: Currently a member and Vice Chairperson of the newly formed Community Committee. Previous activities with DLS? Senior Treasurer, executive committee member, was involved with various hurling teams from Senior team down to juvenile teams.  Other family members involved with DLS? My mother Elsie has been involved with DLS for a number of years, most notably as First Aid person. My older brother Tommy played Gaelic Football in his early years, winning County U14A, U16A and Minor A medals. Favourite Sports other than GAA? Soccer especially Celtic FC. Aussie Rules. Favourite recreation? Walking Inspirational Quote? “It always seems impossible until it’s done”  Nelson Mandela Favourite Concert attended?
