COUNTY DUTY
In a heart stopping game against Galway, Shaun O’ Brien, Jack Fagan, Kevin Moran, Jake Dillon, Shane McNulty and Thomas Douglas on the extended panel did us proud as Waterford deservedly progress to an All-Ireland Hurling Quarter Final v Tipperary. Jack had an early point, a crucial goal and finished on 1-2. Well Done Lads. The Senior Waterford girls had a fourteen point revenge on Dublin for their loss against them in the League Div 1 playoff. Beth had five points from play and five from frees, and also picked out Abby with a fine pass under pressure from numerous defenders for Abby to finish nicely. Well Done to Brianna, Keeley, Beth & Abby who now progress to the Quarter Finals. Unfortunately the Junior Team went down in a very close game v Armagh but huge performance by Niamh Murphy who also scored a consolation goal. Well Done Niamh. Well Done to Alannah McNulty and her team mates who had a superb win v Wexford in the All-Ireland Minor A Championship.
REFRESHMENTS
With the good weather and training cancelled for a lot of teams Wednesday, the Community Committee headed for the beach last week but will be back for complimentary teas and coffees this Wednesday. It was a busy Saturday morning gone and despite the hot weather, hot chocolates were still very popular from Eddie Barrett and ‘Under the Clock’ with the kids.
