HISTORIC LOTTO JACKPOT

There was no winner in this week’s draw, with numbers drawn 5-13-22-30. This means the next draw on 9th August 2021 will be for a record breaking €20,000. A huge thanks to the Lotto Committee for their hard work, dedication & oversight as we reach this landmark. The Lucky Dip Winners were; Ellen Sheehan, Dylan Finn, Adam Farrell, Susan Ryan, Aiden & Niamh c/o Jack Duggan. RESULTS & FIXTURES

GAA;  Our U15s went down by the narrowest of margins in the Championship Semi Final, 1-9 to Ballyduff Uppers 1-10. Well Done Lads, great battle all the way. In the U12B City League the boys went down to a very strong Clan na Gael in hurling, great fight all the way lads. Some great shots by John O Neill on social media from the U8 Blitz held in Gracedieu earlier in the week between De la Salle, Passage and Erin’s Own. Well Done everyone, some great skills on display.

CAMOGIE; Congrats to our u16 girls on a good win away during the week. Result:Gailltir 0-10 v DLS 3-10. Final group game in two weeks’ time at home to Modeligo. Well done to our u12 whites squad on a good win away to Abbeyside during the week in torrential rain. Well done to both sides on a great game. Result : Abbeyside 1-01 DLS 5-00. Hard luck to our u12 reds squad who narrowly lost out to Butlerstown B away same night. Well done to both teams who battled on in very wet conditions. Well done to our u10s who travelled to St Mollerans & played 3 brilliant games against St Mollerans, Gailltír and Abbeyside. Thank you very much to St Mollerans for a great morning of camogie. Keep up the good work girls and thanks to our u16 player Saoirse for refereeing the 3 games.

COUNTY DUTY

Congrats to Waterford hurlers on a fantastic win over Tipperary. Well done to our lads Shaun O’Brien who made some super saves, Shane McNulty who got on the scoreboard, Jack Fagan who got 2 points, Kevin Moran who did a solid blood substitution, Jake Dillon who was warmed up & ready to get into the game & Thomas Douglas on the extended panel. Great to Some great DLS support in Cork. Well Done Lads, superb game and well done to Jack Fagan who was on GAA team of the week for his Galway game performance. Well Done to Conor Keane, Jack Twomey, Daniel Lawlor, Kieran Kennedy, Conor O Shea and all the Waterford Minor hurlers on a great win v Tipperary earlier in the week, to earn a Munster Final place. Also on the Management Team is Ray Murphy Selector & Conan Watt on Equipment, well done lads. Munster Minor Hurling Championship Semi Final, Waterford:2-25(31) Tipperary:4-11(23). Great to see lots De La Salle support in Pairc Ui Rinn too.

All Ireland Senior Camogie saw Waterford go down to 3-08 to Cork 2-19. Although already through to All-Ireland Quarter-Finals, a gallant display from the girls with super saves from Brianna & Abby getting on the score sheet. Unfortunately Beth didn’t start with an injury and Keeley had to go off with an injury during first half. Niamh Murphy lined out with the County Junior team over the weekend v Wexford in Walsh Park in the All-Ireland Championship but went down 2.4 to 1-12. Well done to Alannah McNulty who played a prominent role in the All-Ireland Minor A Championship R2 draw 1-14 to 2-11 with Kilkenny and Waterford qualified for the knockout stages of the All-Ireland. Doing us proud also were our Club girls Alex Healy, Isobel Boland, Caoimhe Mulvaney, Mya Kelly & Ella Holohan who represented Waterford v Limerick during the week in the U16c Munster Championship semi-final. Congrats also to some of our club girls Alyssa, Sadie, Shayla, Zoe, Emily & (Kate was on holidays) who got to play u14 for Waterford over the weekend with the County whites and stripes squads & they had two great wins over Laois and Wicklow at the weekend. REFRESHMENTS

On Wednesday, the Community Committee had two new younger volunteers on the roster adding cordial juice drinks to the offering, for younger members attending. Well Done Erin & Emily, and huge thanks Suzanne & Susan for the teas and coffees and of course Gerry for the biscuits. Both the Community Committee & Under the Clock are taking a little break until the 18th August when they’ll return with complimentary refreshments Wednesdays & a whole new menu for Saturday mornings
