RESULTS
GAA; In the U11A Hurling City League, we went down to Ballygunner but well done to the lads on battling all the way. Well done to the U13 Footballers who beat Tramore 1-10 to 0-7 in the championship. Our U15 Footballers had a comprehensive win over Erin’s Own at the weekend and earlier in the week, they also had a good win v Naomh Brid with a goal flurry in both games. Well Done lads. In the Intermediate Hurling Championship we had a nice win over Fenor 1-13 to 0-6, great stuff lads.
CAMOGIE; Our U10 camogie girls travelled to Tramore this week for some challenge matches. Thank you very much Tramore Camogie. Well done to both clubs on the display of great skills. Keep up the good work girls. The U12 DLS Reds lost out by the narrowest of margins 2-3 to Ballyduff Lower’s 3-1 this week, unlucky girls. Well done to our U12 White squad on a good win during the week 6-4 to Portlaw’s 3-1 with feast of goals from Saoirse Moylan after her big move from full back to full forward. It was great to see the U12 Red team come to support the Whites after their training session. Well Done Girls, coaches & mentors, keep up the good work. Our U14 girls had a comprehensive win away to Mount Sion earlier in the week, keep up the good work girls & mentors. Our U16 girls had a great result and great performance v Mondeligo winning 4-11 to 1-4. Well done girls, another good performance. Our Senior girls put up a great performance in the Senior League Shield going down to St Anne’s 1-9 to 1-15. Hard luck girls in a good game served up by both teams that’s great preparation for the championship. Well done to St Anne’s.
COUNTY DUTY
Hard Luck to Conor Keane, Jack Twomey, Daniel Lawlor, Conor O’ Shea, Kieran Kennedy and all the Waterford Minor hurlers in the Minor Munster Hurling Final to a very impressive Cork team. Well done to the Management Team. which included Ray Murphy as Selector & Conan Watt on Equipment, on a great campaign. Jack Twomey was sensational in the Final with 1-4 for Waterford and if you haven’t seen his goal, check it out on our social media, a definite contender for goal of the year. Great to see so many from DLS in Thurles, on a Monday night. Well Done to club girls Emily, Kate & Zoe who played with the Waterford U14 Stripes Squad at home v Westmeath over the weekend and also to Alyssa, Shayla, Sadie & Kate who played with the Waterford U14 Whites squad in Offaly and had a good win. Well done girls.
CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ATTENDENCE
We have been asked to inform all members that going forward that admission to all intermediate, junior A and knockout games is by ticket only. A link will be forwarded to the participating clubs to purchase tickets for all these games. Attendance in Walsh Park is 500 and all other venues is 200 until further notice. Each participating team will be allowed free admission for a maximum of 40 people to include players, mentors and officials. A list of these names and their positions must be supplied to the eastern board officials on the gate for checking before anyone is admitted to the venue.
