COMMUNITY
The Committee’s #MyMindMatters GAA Healthy Club Challenge concluded this week with indoor soccer, walking, yoga and Mamogie. There was a great turn out for the Mamogie with lots of fun, craic and banter. Big thanks to Don Lawlor for coordinating the event and provision of all the gear. I’m hearing there could be a second adult team in the making for next season! The Yoga Sunday Stretch continues at 10.30am Sunday mornings in Gracedieu with a four class introductory special for November of €7 drop in or 4 for €20, subsidised by the club and ‘Running with Frank’ continues at 6pm Wednesdays in Gracedieu.

GAA
Unfortunately our Minors went down by five points to Roanmore in the Div 3 County Semi Final. The game was played in a very strong & wild wind but we battled all the way in a game that was closer than the score suggests. We had our chances and very much left the game behind us in the second half. A huge well Done to the players, management & mentors on a fantastic campaign. Thanks to John O’ Neill for some great action photos posted on social media. Last weekend, our U12 Hurlers travelled to Youghal for a blitz. We had two teams participating and there was a great boost when they recorded a win over local rivals Ballygunner. Our U8 boys gave a great account of themselves and their fantastic progress thanks to their coaches in the Deise Og Blitz.
CAMOGIE;
Congrats to our Senior girls on a good win over the weekend in their Senior County Championship semi-final game at the WIT Sports Campus. Hard luck to our opponents Tramore. The girls now face Gailltir Camogie in the County Final in two weeks’ time, on Saturday 13th November at 2pm in Walsh Park. Well done to our U10 girls who got to participate in games v Tramore U10s at half time. Some great developing skills on display, keep up the good work girls & mentors. Our U13 Girls red team went down to a very good and physical Tallow team on Sunday in the League. It was a great effort from this very young team, well done girls & thanks to all the supporters who travelled to Tallow for the game. The next game for the Red Girls is away to Butlerstown next weekend. Our U13 White team lost out to Clonea 3-0 to 3-4 in the U13B Semi Final in Gracedieu. Hard luck girls, ye played great & best of luck to Clonea in the final. Our U12 Red & White teams participated in the Tesco u12 Blitz in WIT Arena last Bank Holiday Monday. The reds played against Brickey Rangers, St Mollerans and Ballyduff Lower. The U12 whites played against Tramore, Gailltír and Clonea. The standard of camogie was immense from all clubs and thanks to Waterford Camogie for a great morning of Camogie. Well done girls, mentors and supporters.
THINK REUSABLE NOT SINGLE USE
DLS GAA & Camogie have registered a pledge with Waterford Council to reduce single use plastics at all our Club Grounds. We will soon be identifying a tap with signage for filling & refilling water bottles. In preparation, we are asking Club members to do your bit by considering a purchase of a bespoke De La Salle personalised water bottle. They also make ideal Christmas Gifts. The Water bottle & drawstring bag is €10.50 and can be ordered online at delasallegaa.ie/clubgear/bottleandbag . Be sure names are spelt correctly! Orders close on Fri 5/11/21 with distribution in early December. Any queries to Deirdre on 0860825005.
