COMMUNITY COMMITTEE
Last week saw huge numbers turn out for our weekly 5K walk from Cleaboy Car Park. From Wednesday 30/3/22, the walk will be from our Gracedieu Grounds at 7pm. In addition, its intended to get the complimentary refreshments back up and running again on Wednesdays in Gracedieu. We could do with a few more volunteers to go on our roster. If you're interested, drop us a message through our social media platforms?
CAMOGIE
Congrats to Keeley Corbett Barry who did the Club proud representing Waterford Camogie at a reception in City Hall for HRH Prince of Wales & The Duchess of Cornwall. There's a nice photo on our social media pages.
Hard Luck to the Waterford U16A Camogie team who went down to Limerick at the weekend, with the Club well represented by Abbie Mullane, Alex Healy, Leah Browne, Mya Kelly, Ella Holohan, Isobel Boland, Kayleigh Kirby and Maggie Gostl.
GAA
Riain Shanahan is this week's U7 Player of the Week for the College pitch training location and Alex Power for Gracedieu location, well done boys. A huge Happy Birthday to Riain also. An outstanding performance in the sun from Oskar Mitchell on Saturday in DLS College, ensured player of the week U8, for him. Oskar is showing the benefit of all his practise as he continues to excel every week. Last week, our U8 Hurlers had a great day out Sunday when their Coaches brought them to play Dicksboro GAA and then onto Nolan Park for the Waterford Kilkenny game. Well Done to all the boys on great progress with their skills and thanks to the coaches and mentors for all their great work. Well Done to Waterford Hurlers on a very impressive League Semi Final Win over Wexford which involved Shaun O' Brien, Shane McNulty & Jack Fagan in the starting team. Superb defensive performance by Shane, while Jack was a secure half back taking two points in supporting attack play whilst OB secured the posts confidently with excellent distribution ensuring continued possession from puck outs. Best Wishes lads in the League Final v Cork next Saturday.
