COMMUNITY
This week we celebrated the feast day of St John Baptist de la Salle by remembering the founding of our Club in 1927 by Bro John Murphy, then a young De La Salle brother in St Stephen’s St School. In 2008 a new dimension was added with the formation of the Camogie Club and to this day, ‘Respect for all People’ & ‘An inclusive community’ are the core De La Salle values within our Club
CAMOGIE
Our annual club fundraising walk takes place on Weds 25th May at 6pm from Gracedieu. Sponsorship cards will be distributed to all our various squads over the coming days and all support & sponsorship greatly appreciated. Please come along on the evening & join in & have some fun & banter along the way. See you there and there'll be a cuppa & treat afterwards back in Gracedieu, thanks to the Community Committee.
Well Done to our U12 White and red Teams who were out during the week. The Reds came up short v Gaultier whilst the Whites travelled to Tallow and gave a superb display.
Congrats to our club girls on County duty with the u14 squads over the weekend. In Offaly, Jayne, Eve, Lauren & Zoe proudly represented the Club & County as did Eva, Kate, Alyssa, Jodie in Westmeath. Well done to all involved and keep up the great work girls.
Hard Luck to Holly Ryan, Niamh Murphy, Lucy Hogan & Colette Hogan (injured) who went down to Clare at the weekend in the Munster Junior Camogie Final at Pairc Ui Rinn.
Well done to our Senior girls on a good win in Round 5 of the Senior League at home v Butlerstown in a very good game of Camogie. Great to see another few of our younger girls making their adult debuts. We have now qualified for the semi-final stages.

Congrats to U7 hurler of the week, Gracedieu Charlie Firth and to Oliver Hutchinson U7 Player of the Week at DLS College. Well Done boys, keep up the great work & practice, it’s paying off on the field.
It was a great day for our U10 hurlers down in Glynn Barntown for the annual Michael Laffan Memorial tournament where we played Mount Sion, Rower Inistioge, Glynn Barntown and Faythe Harriers. The boys played superb, all credit to their coaches and mentors, all taking away medals. It was a pleasure to be involved in such a well-run tournament.
Our U11A Hurlers had a good win v Ballyduff Lower in the City League but came up short in the U11B v Ballygunner whilst our U12A Hurlers drew against Ballygunner earlier in the week, well done boys!
Our U13 Footballers went down to Lismore in the Div 2 Championship Semi Final earlier in the week but great to see so many of the boys on trial for the County and best wishes boys over the coming weeks.
Well Done to Abbie Mullane who refereed the trial games and to Micko Casey & Eddie Mulligan who helped as a part of the support team for the Deise Og U13 Football Trials in preparation for the U14 Development squad.
Our Senior Hurlers had a nice League win 0-21 to 2-13 over Dunhill, during the week.
Whilst it was a disappointing result in Walsh Park v Cork over the weekend, there was a great De La Salle presence, on & off the pitch. Well Done to Shaun O' Brien, Shane McNulty and Jack Fagan who challenged all the way but unfortunately wasn't our day. Great to see so many at the match from the Club and congrats to Jodie Whelan, Lauren Maher & Lauren Kennedy Rowe who played superbly in the half time primary schools game v Cork and huge well done to Abbie Mullane who refereed the primary game. Congrats everyone!
