BETH CARTON

Huge congratulations to Beth Carton who was presented with her fifth WLR / Granville Hotel GAA Award. Beth was top scorer for the Déise camogie team in the All-Ireland championship,  with 2 goals and 45 points. The two-time All Star was crowned overall winner at the Granville Hotel in 2018 and 2019 and we are all very proud of Beth’s achievements with Club & County.

Well Done to our Minor Hurlers who had a nice 2-22 to 1-15 win over Fourmilewater, next up is away to Abbeyside on Wednesday 10th August at 730pm and home to Lismore on Wednesday 17/8 at 715pm. Well Done to our Junior Hurlers who beat Mollerans 5-15 to 1-12 and Erins Own 2-13 to 1-16. Hard Luck to our Intermediate Hurlers who went down to Ferrybank 1-15 to 4-22. The score says it all as we went down to Ballygunner 1-08 to 0-25 in the County Senior Hurling Championship. The tone was set for the first half when Ballygunner keeper pulled off a brilliant save from Brian Cunningham for Eoin Madigan to score from the consequent 65. Shaun O’ Brien was in impressive form between the posts with a better second half performance seeing Jack Fagan(2), Brian Cunningham (2), Thomas Douglas(2), Kevin Moran all hit points and Ruben Halloran returning from injury scoring a consolation goal from a rebound save forced by Tonto. Well Done Lads and next up is Passage at 7pm Saturday in Walsh Park.
