ALL STAR

The Stars of our Club, Beth Carton, Brianna O’ Regan and Abby Flynn were in Croke Park, same night as our Dinner Dance for the All-Star Awards.

A huge Congrats to Beth on her third All Star and Hard Luck to Brianna & Abby whose day will come, no doubt. Beth is a fantastic Ambassador for the game at Club and County and is always coaching, mentoring, and inspiring the younger girls in the Club, in her spare time. Congrats again to our three stars who have done us all so proud in De La Salle.

CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR

It was a horrible windy and wet Saturday morning but John O’ Neill was present in the lonely corner of the SETU Arena, to capture our U15 girls and the splash of the ash in very wet conditions. He then dried himself off and was in The Tower Hotel setting up for the function room for the Dinner Dance. The Club has never had so many emotions, feats of excellence, moments of sadness overturned by elations of joy combined with skilful feats, captured for our Club records and personal memories, which can be handed down to future generations.

John’s wife is also a volunteer on the Refreshments Committee in Gracedieu and his son Ben, is a member of the history making minor team achieving hurling and football County titles. We don’t know if Pauline and Ben ever see John with the hundreds of hours, he spends editing the many thousands of photographs that are then distributed to our teams and on social media.

A well-deserved Club person of the year, Congrats John O'Neill

CAMOGIE

Well done to our u15 girls who put in an epic battle against Portlaw in tough weather conditions in the SETU Arena on Saturday morning, in the u15B shield final. Trailing 3-6 to no score at half time our girls rallied and pulled it back to come up just short at 3-7 to 3-1. A brilliant display from this young team after moving up from u14C grade last year. Enjoy the well-earned break girls, mentors & supporters and well done to Portlaw on their win. There’s still a Minor Semi Final away v Portlaw on Sat 3/12/22, at 11am in Portlaw.
