AGM
Wednesday, we had our last Executive Meeting, before next week’s AGM on Wed 25th of January at 7:30 pm in Gracedieu. All are welcome! It was a good meeting where we reflected on a lot of positives but with a melancholic mood as it was Seamus Quirke & Paul Keane’s last meeting. They will be a huge loss to the Club Executive and leaves two vacancies. Prior to AGM, there will be a display our new lights at 7pm by Chair, Seamus Quirke. Any motions to secretary.delasalle.waterford@gaa.ie & nominations through the link; https://forms.office.com/e/R2zZTbjsrp Club membership is now due too, through www.foireann.ie

PASSING OF BROTHER STEPHEN
It was with deepest regret that we heard of the recent passing in Castletown, Co Laois of Brother Stephen Deignan FSC. For those who did not know him Brother Stephen was Principal in De La Salle College in the 90's. During his time in Waterford, he became President of our club and took a keen interest in it. While, by his own admission he was more an academic than a sportsman he used his knowledge and expertise to spearhead a complete review of the workings of the club in 1996. The result was a report that no doubt resulted in the unprecedented success of our juvenile teams in the early 2000's followed by our adult successes. Later in his role as Provincial of the De La Salle order he fully supported our ambitious development plans to move to a green field site and was indeed a very proud man when he returned to open our Gracedieu Complex in 2017.
A scholar, gentleman, visionary and true Lasallian role model we offer our deepest sympathy to his family and fellow De La Salle Brothers. Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam uasal. Ní fheicifimid a leithéid arís
