ST PATRICK’S DAY

All club members are invited to participate in the St Patrick’s Day Parade. We meet at St Stephen’s School at 1230pm and bring along a hurley or football wearing Club colours 

LOTTO JACKPOT €10,000

Huge well done to Jennifer & Sabrina and all the Club members who were in Supervalu Kilbarry over the weekend, selling Lotto Draw Entries at €2 each or 3 for €5. There was no jackpot winner in our recent draw, with numbers drawn 13, 18, 23, 26. The next Draw is Mon 20th March 2023 for a massive Jackpot of €10,000. The Lucky Dip Winners were; Claire Hartery, Niall O’ Sullivan, Sarah Connolly, Mary Rose Doyle & Kieran Egan. CAMOGIE

Hard luck to the Waterford Camogie Minor who went down to Galway, 3-10 to 2-06 away. Alex Healy, Alannah McNulty, Maggie Gostl & Isobel Boland are all members of this squad. Well done to our adult girls who came out victorious over the weekend in the St Annes Jean O Loughlin Memorial Camogie Tournament in Dunhill. Many thanks to the host club for a well-run tournament & also to Butlerstown, Abbeyside & Portlaw for some great games. Well done to the Waterford Senior Camogie girls & management team on a great four in a row win in the National League with Beth scoring six points and a player of the match performance from Brianna.  Well Done Brianna, Keeley, Beth, Abby & Niamh. Congrats to Keeley on being named in the Electric Ireland Third Level Rising Stars Team.

GAA

Congrats to Darius Botha u8 player of the week Gracedieu, and to Finn Hoban DLS college player of the week, well done boys. Great photos on social media of them celebrating with their teammates. Congrats to Luke Staunton named as Joint Captain in the Minor Hurling panel released this week. Hard Luck to Shaun, Shane, Jack and Reuben as Waterford senior hurlers went down to Tipperary.

MARC McDONALD TOURNAMENT

On Friday, the finals of our Annual Marc McDonald tournament (running since 1997) took place under lights in Gracedieu. After some tremendous hurling from 44 players from under 10 and 11 squads and everyone returned to the clubhouse for the presentations. Juvenile Chairman Paudie Brosnan and Anne McDonald presented the shield to joint winning captains James Hall and Louis Daly. Thanks to Teva for sponsoring the trophies & to St Dominic’s Credit Union for their continued support of our Juvenile Club.

SCOREBOARD

A huge thanks to all the Club members who helped out laying the concrete foundation for the new Arachas rotating score board, despite the atrocious weather conditions. 

GOING TO THE DOGS

A Club Family Night has been organised at the Dogs! It will be a major fundraiser for all three sections of the Club; GAA, Camogie & Juvenile. It will be an opportunity for a great all age social get together on Sat, April 22nd in Kilcohan Greyhound Stadium. We are asking each family to purchase two tickets at €10 each or one family ticket for €20 and tickets can be purchased from your team manager or online through Clubzap. DEISE DRAW

The Deise draw is starting 22nd May 2023 and tickets are €90 each. Anyone wishing to support the Club by taking one, can get in touch with Noreen Cotter at 086 3403993, and she will get it to you.

DLS BABY

Our first De La Salle Baby of 2023, Billy, was born on 16th February to proud parents Sean & Caoimhe. We look forward to seeing Billy at Well Kidz, Salle Og in due course and remember if you have you had or are you due a baby in 2023, we would love to hear from you for the welcome pack and De la Salle club baby jersey. MEMBERSHIP

As the playing season returns, no matter what your age, to be an insured player for De La Salle Camogie and GAA, your Club membership must be paid. It can be paid through www.foireann.ie

GEAR SWAP

This innovative Community Committee initiative will take place on Saturday the 25th of March 2023 from 11am to 2pm. Have you club gear at home that you or your child has grown out of? Why not donate it or swap us for another item?

Football Boots - Hurleys - Helmets - Jersey /Training top - Shorts - Leisure tops - Leisure bottoms – Jackets. All items need to be clean and in good condition.
