CAMOGIE

Our u12 red squad had a challenge match against the u13 development squad, a great game to watch. They then travelled onto Cappamore to cheer on the Waterford Camogie Senior squad v Limerick. Well done to all involved. There are some great photos from this and the U12 White squad who had a great challenge game v Mount Sion, with super skills on display from both sides. Well done to our U12 white squad who also came away with a draw against Clonea earlier in the week. A great game between the two teams in very hot weather conditions. Keep up the good work girls & mentors. Hard Luck to our U14 White girls who went down to a strong Cappoquin team earlier in the week.  Congrats to Brianna, Keeley, Beth, Abby, Niamh and all the Waterford senior camogie squad on an impressive win in the second round of the Glen Dimplex All Ireland Championship Waterford 2-19, Limerick 0-11. Super play from Beth Carton who finished with a tally of 1-12 (4f). During the game, Beth had scored 100 scores for her county in 2023 at 3-91, and she went on to score a further 1-05 bringing her personal tally to 4-96 for 2023. Some achievement!

GAA

There’s some great photos from John O’ Neill on our social media from the U8 Hurling GoGames v Ferrybank, during the week. Well Done to both teams on a great display of skills thanks to their coaches. Congrats to our U12 Hurlers who had a nice win v Mount Sion and hard luck to our U13s who went down to Lismore earlier in the week. The race for the Liam MacCarthy Cup has begun with the remaining eight teams last week battling it out. It was a privilege and honour for the Club to have the 2023 GAA Hurling All-Ireland Series launched earlier last week at our Gracedieu Grounds. A huge shout out and thank you to all Club members who worked so hard to ensure our facilities were in pristine condition for the launch. Some very familiar young and old faces getting National coverage on the news and social media all week, well done to all.
