FEILE DIV 1 SHIELD CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to all the management team & squad of our U15 Hurlers on winning the Div 1 Feile Shield, having won three out of their four games, on Saturday.

The lads had a great start beating Clarecastle of Clare 2-8 to 2-5 with scorers; Toby Ryan 0-3, Shane Power 1-02, Darragh Doyle 0-1, Alex Reddin 0-1, Jack Mullally 1-0 and Jeff Fanning 0-1.

In the second game, the boys went down to a very good James Stephens of Kilkenny 2-12 to 0-11 having put in a serious shift. Scorers; Shane Power 0-6, Toby Ryan 0-2, Darragh Doyle, Jeff Fanning, and Conor Power 0-1 each.

Next up was the Dublin Champions Raheny in the Div 1 Shield semi-final. It was a fantastic battle with the Club winning 3-6 to 2-6, leaving the bodies sore and tired for the final. Scorers; Toby Ryan 2-2, Shane Power 1-04, and Darragh Doyle 0-1.

It was a great end to a great day for a great bunch of players when we beat Castlegar Galway, in the Shield Final 2-9 to 0-8 with scorers Shane Power 0-7, Toby Ryan 1-2, and Darragh Doyle 1-0.

Special thanks to Micko Casey and Maddy Bosek for treating some sore bodies before the final. Also, thanks to Eddie "head of snacks " Meaney & a big thank you to Tommy Ryan & Paul Keane for the updates.

CAMOGIE

There are some great pictures from our younger crew’s training session this week in Gracedieu, on our social media. Well done to all involved - great to see multiple All Star winners Beth Carton & John Mullane training our young club camogie squads. If you would like to get your daughter involved in playing camogie please feel free to come along to any of our training sessions or contact our club secretary on 087 2509779 for further details. Well Done to our U12 Red Team who beat Portlaw during the week and hard luck to the white team who went down to St Annes B. There are some great shots of our latest Mamogie legends game by John O’ Neill on our social media too, check them out!

GAA

Our U11B Hurlers went down to Na Gael during the week in the All County League and hard luck also to Lee Hayes and the Waterford Masters Football team who went down to Kerry, 3-06 to 0-9. Well Done to our U11A Hurlers who beat Passage during the week

CONDOLENCES

Sadly, we had two recent bereavements in our Club. Pat O Brien, grandfather of Mikey Costigan recently passed away and we extend the deepest sympathies of us all here in the Club. Pat was always a familiar face on the sideline at almost every match, over the years, with his little notebook. He was well known for his accurate score keeping and kind nature. Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.

It is also with deepest sympathy we extend our condolences to John Jacob & the Keane family of the recent passing of Maria Jacob, grandmother of Conor, Darragh & Alex Keane. John sat on Juvenile committees & also played senior hurling for the Club & our thoughts are with him & all the family at this sad challenging time as we remember Maria.

Ar Dheis De go raibh a hanam.
