- County U-13 Hurling Final
De La Salle 6-5 St. Carthages 3-6
Pride of place this week goes to our U-13 hurlers who were crowned county champions in Walsh Park on Saturday afternoon. This was an excellent game of hurling with some really good players on both sides and it is fair to say that the eight point winning margin was not a true reflection of the game but we finished strongly scoring an unanswered 1-3 to secure the victory. Well done to both sets of players on making it a great contest.
St. Carthages made the better start and led 1-5 to 1-1 midway through the half. However, a first half hat trick by outstanding captain Jack Twomey and a brilliant defensive effort led by Conor Keane saw us lead 3-2 to 1-5 at the break. A fourth goal from Jack Twomey and an incredible finish by Jack Douglas looked to have secured the game but St. Carthages hit back and we led 5-2 to 3-6 with five minutes to go. St. Carthages spurned two goal chances before a composed finish from Daniel Lalor and three further points cued the celebrations when the cup was presented to Jack Twomey

- County Senior Hurling Semi Final
Abbeyside 0-14 De La Salle 0-13
Our senior hurlers exited the championship when we lost to Abbeyside by the narrowest of margins in Fraher Field last Saturday. This was a game that was there to be won but, despite an outstanding second half display from Jake Dillon, poor shooting which saw our second half wide count alone hit double figures proved to be our undoing.
The first five minutes saw us on top and points from Shane Ryan, Adam Farrell and Eddie Meaney saw us lead 0-3 to 0-1. Three successive points saw Abbeyside take the lead but a foul on Eddie Meaney saw Shane Ryan level matters after nine minutes. Abbeyside regained the lead but two further fouls on Eddie Meaney resulted in two points for Shane Ryan and after Sean O’Brien saved brilliantly, Cormac McCann pointed and we led 0-7 to 0-5 midway through the half. We failed to score in the second quarter and Abbeyside hit five points to lead 0-10 to 0-7 at half time. We began the second half on top and points from Cormac McCann, Paidi Nevin and a Shane Ryan free after he was fouled himself made it all square after seven minutes but in truth we should have been ahead at this stage as we missed four good chances. Abbeyside went ahead in the 10th minute but Shane Ryan equalised two minutes later. A brilliant goal saving block by Jake Dillon led to Abbeyside converting the sixty five but from the puckout Paidi Nevin replied to make it 0-12 each. Immediately after Eddie Meaney had an excellent goal chance but was foiled. Shane Ryan pointed a sixty five in the 18th minute but this proved to be our last score. Abbeyside equalised in the 21st minute and hit the winner in the 25th minute. We had chances to equalise but it was not to be and the final whistle sounded
We extend our thanks to the management and players for their efforts this year and congratulate Abbeyside on their win and wish them well in the final

- County Minor Hurling Semi Final
Mount Sion 0-17 De La Salle 0-16
There was further disappointment on Sunday morning when our minor hurlers suffered the exact same fate as our seniors when we went down to Mount Sion by a point in a game played in Ballygunner. Credit to our lads who had fought back to level but Mount Sion came up with the winner when we thought we had earned a reprieve.
Early points from Aidan Gannon and Ruben Halloran had us ahead 0-2 to 0-1 after five minutes but by the 16th minute we trailed 0-5 to 0-2. Both teams added four points before half time with ours coming from Aidan Gannon (3) and Dan Casey to make 0-9 to 0-6 at the break. We began the second half with two points from the excellent Ruben Halloran but Mount Sion replied with two of their own. We got on top for a period and it was all square at 0-12 each by the 18th minute with four points from Aidan Gannon. Mount Sion regained control and hit three points in the next five minutes. Points from Aidan Gannon and Ruben Halloran reduced the arrears to the minimum but Mount Sion hit back with one. Aidan Gannon pointed a free in the 30th minute and Kevin Hennessy, who had been forced to retire injured in the first half and came back on with a heavily strapped leg, equalised in the first minute of injury time before Mount Sion hit the winner.
We extend our thanks to the management and players for their efforts this year and congratulate Mount Sion on their win and wish them well in the final
