SALLEOG
In De La Salle GAA & Camogie, we do not believe in much structured play at too young an age and that a slow, measured introduction to our games will ensure a better experience and hopefully a life-long engagement. As a result our beginners programme caters for children aged 5 (born in 2016) and 6 (born in 2015). With this in mind we planned ‘SALLE ÓG’ with three ‘Come Try Me’ days IN our Gracedieu Grounds on Saturdays from 1pm to 2.00pm for our local community. It started yesterday June 12th & what fun was had and there’s some great photos by John O’ Neill on our social media. This programme we feel will help your child discover and learn about our games and our club with the emphasis mainly on fun, enjoyment and making new friends. SalleOg will run again Saturday 19th & 26th and we’d love to see you & your child there.
COUNTY DUTY
A huge well done to Kevin Moran, Jack Fagan, Shaun O’Brien, the management team & all the panel on a fine league win v Tipperary. Kevin controlled the middle of the field whilst Jack scored two points and fed Hutchinson for the superb goal he doubled on. Congrats also to Alannah McNulty appointed U16 County Camogie Joint Captain.
RESULTS
This week our U12A hurlers went down to Mount Sion whilst the U12B Team had a fine win v St Saviours in the League. Great to see our U15 hurlers back at it early Saturday morning after a loss against Dungarvan in the Group Stage Championship, that’s the spirit lads. Our U14 Camogie Girls had a great Championship win against Brickey Rangers and a super fun TikTok, with camera work by Joey, shared social media whilst our U13 Hurlers had a narrow loss v Naomh Carthaigh in the Championship. Remember all our fixtures and results are regularly updated, thanks to Tommy, on Website and ClubZap.
REFRESHMENTS
Huge well done to the volunteers providing complimentary ‘take away’ teas & coffees at Wednesday night training. Sausage blaas are now added to the ‘Under the Clock’ take away menu with the hot chocolate & marshmallows for a €2 coin still hugely popular with the kids on Saturday mornings.
