CLUB LOTTO
There was no winner in this week’s Lotto with numbers drawn 1, 9, 11 & 25. The Lucky Dip Winners were David Sutton, Elsie Clooney, Shane Ryan, Stephanie Myles & Maria Twomey. Thanks everyone for all your support with Lotto being our main fundraiser and you can enter online at www.delasallegaa.ie. RESULTS
GAA; The future of Waterford Hurling is safe with the skilful displays today by both teams in U10 game v Ballyduff Lower at Gracedieu over the weekend. Some great photos on social media.
CAMOGIE; Well done to our adult Senior squad on their win away to Butlerstown in Round 4 of the League over the weekend. A good hour of Camogie to watch was played in sweltering heat - well done to both teams. Nice to see some of our u16 club girls getting game time in the league with our adult players. Next up Modeligo away in R5 on Sat 24th July at 630pm. Result DLS 1-11 Butlerstown 2-05. It was hard luck to our u16 girls who played a thrilling encounter v Tramore during the week DLS 2-10 Tramore 3-11. Well done to our u12 whites squad who had a good win v Cappoquin during the week and hard luck to our u12 reds squad who lost out to Gailltir same night in a gallant performance, in Cleaboy. Keep up the good work girls.
COUNTY DUTY
Well Done to Shaun, Kevin, Jake, Jack, Shane and Thomas Douglas on the extended panel who did us proud as Waterford senior hurlers progress to the second round of hurling qualifiers v Galway, despite a scare. Kevin managed to notch up a goal and a point, Jack a point and everyone acquitted themselves well when called upon. Some trivia by John Sheehan on social media was that it was the first time ever that De La Salle GAA & Camogie had goalkeepers playing same day in Senior Championship Hurling & Camogie for the County. Well Done Brianna & Shaun and a future sporting quiz question in the Club no doubt. Brianna saved a penalty and Beth pointed a free in the sixth minute of injury time to rescue a 0-16 to 0-15 Senior Championship victory for Waterford over Down at Walsh Park whilst Keeley and Abby had solid performances. Huge well done to our U10 girls who got to play in the Go Games at half time in the same game. You all did us so proud girls, well done.
During the week, Rueben Halloran who had a great game v Tipperary U20 in the Munster Quarter Final. Reuben who scored five points, three from play and two frees, also realised the clock was against Waterford and knowing a goal was needed drilled a free into the goal scoring zone with Sean Walsh grabbing a goal and extra-time but unfortunately wasn’t Waterford’s day. Well Done Reuben, you did us so proud. Also doing us proud are our five players, Jack Twomey, Conor O’Shea, Conor Keane, Kieran Kennedy and Daniel Lawlor who represented Waterford at Minor level in a friendly v Kilkenny. Well Done Lads.
