Remember WellKids continues Saturday mornings at 10am in Gracedieu & in the De la Salle College Hall from 1-2pm.

Well Done to everyone involved in organising a super u7 blitz in Gracedieu on Sunday morning, with teams from Mooncoin, Glenmore, Ferrybank, DLS, Stradbally & Blackwater Wexford.

Congrats to our U8 player of the week, Fionn Murphy, based on his outstanding display building on all his hard work in recent weeks There’s a great photo of him collecting his award with his great friend Cillian Hayes, on social media.

Great day in Dublin for our U11s at the Kimacud Crokes’s tournament on Sunday, where they impressively won all their games & especially the final v Durrow. Well Done, boys, coaches, mentors & parents, great achievement.

Our U12b team secured their place in the County Final with a hard-fought win over Abbeyside during the week. The final took place on Saturday and hard luck to the boys who lost out in the Div. 5 Cup Final v St. Pat's in the SETU Arena. Well Done boys, mentors & parents, we are very proud of ye all after a super campaign.

In Intermediate football, Ballyduff Lower were not in a position to field a team on Saturday and conceded the football championship game. The lads now play Roanmore in the Eastern Quarter Final at 430pm in Ballybeg on Sat 8th October 2022.

Minor Football

Huge well done to our Minor Footballers who continued their winning way with a 2-12 to 2-02 win over St Pats in Cleaboy, on Sunday morning. After a slow start, with a quick inexcusable goal by St Pats and failing to get on the score sheet for almost fifteen minutes we plugged away steadily to go in at half time, a point up 0-9 to 2-2. The first half saw Daniel Lalor score four fine points from full forward as he recovered from injury with great combinations with Jack Twomey, Dylan Quinlan Meagher, and Luke Winkle. Dylan also forced a great save from their keeper. In the second half, we took control of the game, with a focused concentration that saw the runners cut out and a determined defence absorb ten minutes of immense pressure. Jack Jacob scored our first goal and Jack Twomey the second with another good save from Dylan Twomey and point blank save from Rhys Morgan to then score the point. We are unbeaten in our campaign to earn a well-deserved semi-final v St Mary’s next Sunday. On goal Jack Hennessy pulled off two super saves in the second half, Ben O’ Neill and Niall Dawson had a super second half led by an inspired second half player of the match performance by Daniel Goff to not concede a second half score. Rory Wymberry controlled the half back line quickly transitioning good defence work to attack supported by Jack Kavanagh. Jack Douglas did excellent wing back job closing out his man every time. Middle of the field Rhys Morgan challenged and won a lot of ball until injury forced him into full forward with Daniel Lalor coming out field providing a confident centre field holding role. Oisin Power gave a powerful second half performance in man marking and as already mentioned a very successful combination of Jack Twomey, Dylan Quinlan Meagher and Daniel Lalor kept the score board ticking over. Luke Winkle had an excellent game keeping the defence wide whilst supporting our runners and Charlie O’ Callaghan and Jack Jacob kept their defence wide with great supporting play. Toby Ryan came on for an injured Jack Kavanagh and gave a powerful corner back performance. Best Wishes in the semi-final lads.
